  9. <p>The unit reformed as an Air Refueling Group (Associate) in 1987 to provide personnel to operate front-line KC-10As of the 68th ARW and more recently of the 4th Wing at Seymour Johnson AFB. The unit was upgraded to Wing status in October 1994. The KC-10As of the 4th Wing commenced reassignment elsewhere at the end of 1994, with the 77th ARS receiving KC-135Rs during 1995.
